GO partners adapt in crisis and continue to serve

Eight countries were represented in our video prayer meeting last week when we met with some of our international partners. They shared updates from their communities and ministries, so please join us in praying over these specific needs.

Jorge Ramirez | Mexico

Jorge and his family had colds, but they are doing fine now. He is grateful for what the Lord is doing during this time: bringing us together in prayer. They are able to connect with people in new ways and continue to distribute food boxes and pray for those in need.

Carlos Mayorga | Nicaragua

Carlos shared that they continue to help people in need even through this crisis. People outside are still hungry and dying to hear the word of God, and children are still eating from the garbage. They have baptized many people. He is using safe sanitation measures while serving and asks for prayers that they can continue.

Ivan Galindo Paz | Honduras

Ivan reports that his nation is having a difficult time. Although the early quarantine helped slow cases, there is not a strong healthcare system. His family has started a home Bible study to share the Gospel with others. Because he and his wife cannot go outside due to health issues, they are using Facebook Live and WhatsApp groups. He is preaching and praying on a daily basis and continues to help with food supplies in his community.

Ivan leads a daily men’s prayer group, and we are encouraged that they not only pray for the needs in their community, but for our GO staff and team as well. They inspired our Facebook Prayer group where we join in prayer across the nations. Join the group here!

Adan Carvallo | Peru

Adan serves in the jungles of Peru where they are only able to go out once a week for supplies as everything is closed. They hold church service through the internet and reach out to the jungle churches and pastors by telephone. Please pray he finds a way to provide food and other necessities to the churches in the jungle.

Dr. Tania Cusy | Kurdistan, Iraq

Tania and her team are working with the health department to care for people during quarantine. Many people are coming from Iran with health complications. Tania and her team were going door-to-door to treat emergency cases because the hospitals are saturated, but they had to stop to limit exposure. As a team, they are praying for wisdom to meet needs and for God to open doors to serve and share the Gospel, especially in Syria.

Wilkinson Grandez | Peru

Wilkinson is together with his children, allowing him to share the Gospel with them. Some of his own family has come to Christ! He is ministering through Facebook and reminded us that “the only solution to this situation is Jesus Christ!”  Wilkinson reported on many of the communities throughout Peru that he has planted churches in. Because of the distance, the community of Santa Rosa has received no relief, but the church and people are taking care of themselves and praying. The community of Olivos is doing well, and they are receiving provisions there.

Paul | Southern Asia

Paul had the provision of food last week, but he asks for prayer against persecution. The government doesn’t allow them to share the Gospel on Facebook Live, and they entered his house to tell him not to do that. However, Paul has been able to preach using other means of technology.

Please pray for our partners, and give if you feel called. We are collecting funds for specific projects to help our partners during this time.
