Peru is a country rich in history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes. Home to indigenous communities, vibrant cities, and ancient Incan heritage, it is a nation where tradition meets modernity.
Lima, the capital and largest city of Peru, is a vibrant coastal metropolis overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It blends modern development with deep-rooted traditions, offering everything from world-class cuisine to ancient ruins. The people of Lima, or limeños, are warm, hospitable, and proud of their heritage. The city is a melting pot of diverse backgrounds, influenced by Indigenous, Spanish, African, and Asian cultures.
While Catholicism is predominant, many Peruvians blend Christian beliefs with indigenous spiritual practices. Across the country, there are still many unreached people groups who have yet to hear the Gospel.
Carabayllo, one of Lima’s northern districts—and where our ministry will take place for the week—is a rapidly growing area with a mix of urban and rural landscapes. It is home to many hardworking families, including those who have migrated from other parts of Peru in search of better opportunities. Poverty, economic hardships, lack of education, abuse, neglect, and abandonment plague the area, creating barriers to both physical well-being and spiritual growth.
Yet, despite these challenges, the community of Carabayllo is strong, resilient, and full of hope. Churches and local organizations—like our ministry partner, Wilma Grandez—play a crucial role in supporting families through education, health initiatives, and spiritual growth. Our mission is to partner with Wilma to bring hope, encouragement, and the love of Christ to those who have never heard or fully understood the Gospel through various ministry opportunities.

Our ministry partner in Lima is Wilma Grandez. Wilma has been working with children and families on the outskirts of Lima, in Carabayllo, for more than 20 years—feeding them and sharing the love of Jesus. She founded a Christian school, and the Lord has used this school as a beacon of hope, providing children with an education, hot lunches each day, and a place to learn about Jesus. We are so grateful for how God is working through this school to break cycles of abuse and bring hope and healing in the name of Jesus to this community! Wilma continues to serve in multiple feeding centers in the community alongside her ministry team, providing food and discipleship for women and children.
There will be a variety of ministries in which you and your team can participate. Our goal is to help meet both the physical and spiritual needs of the community. In partnership with Wilma and her team, we will offer medical clinics, an eyeglass ministry, and women’s health conferences. We will minister to children daily, and there will be opportunities for light construction projects, such as painting and preparing the school for the upcoming year. Prayer walking and evangelism will also be integral parts of this mission.
This team needs people with a wide range of skills, including medical professionals, those with construction abilities, individuals who can work with children, translators/interpreters, people with organizational skills, preachers, and more. However, the most important qualities you can bring to this team are a willingness to serve in whatever capacity is needed, flexibility, and an openness to let God stretch you beyond your comfort zone!

You will stay at Hacienda Lima Norte (HLN), located about 30 minutes from Lima’s airport and 30 minutes from the Larry Cochran School, where we will minister for the week.
Rooms include basic amenities such as towels, sheets, pillows, a small fridge, soap, and shampoo. Hot water and air conditioning are typically available. The hotel features a beautiful pool and outdoor area that attracts many visitors. Since the team will be there during summer vacation, the hotel may be busy and noisy in the evenings. We recommend bringing earplugs if you are a light sleeper. The facilities provide a safe and welcoming environment for guests.

All transportation for the week has been pre-arranged by your trip leader, including round-trip transfers from the airport and transportation to ministry locations throughout the week. Your team will fly into Lima and travel together by bus to Hacienda Lima Norte. Each day, round-trip transportation will pick up your team from the hotel and take them to the ministry site. Team members do not need to worry about tipping the bus driver, as this is already included in the trip cost.

Breakfast will be prepared each day by Hacienda Lima Norte and will typically include coffee or orange juice, bread, eggs, and fruit.
Lunches are freshly prepared each day by Wilma’s team of Peruvian cooks, giving you the chance to eat like a local! Peruvian cuisine is known for its unique fusion of Indigenous, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, and African influences, resulting in diverse and flavorful dishes. Meals are typically carb-heavy and often include rice and potatoes. Chicken will be the most common protein, though beef and fish may also be served at times.
Some classic Peruvian dishes you might try include lomo saltado (stir-fried beef with soy sauce and spices), pollo a la brasa (Peruvian rotisserie chicken), ají de gallina (creamy chicken with ají amarillo peppers), papas a la huancaína (potatoes in a spicy cheese sauce), and various other potato-based dishes.
If you have any food allergies, please notify the team leader before the trip so that arrangements can be made in advance. Our staff and partners will do their best to accommodate dietary restrictions.
Dinners will be eaten at the Hacienda Lima Norte restaurant each night. You'll have the opportunity to try more Peruvian cuisine or opt for something familiar, like a hamburger.
Your team leader will ensure that everyone has access to clean drinking water throughout the trip—whether through bottled water or large jugs of filtered water. Remember, NEVER drink the tap water in Peru!

At Go InterNational, participant safety is our top priority. Our internal team and external consultants use a multi-layered risk management approach, including monitoring global reports and collaborating with ministry partners on the ground. We enforce safety protocols, such as requiring students to be with an adult, while our hosts provide location-specific guidelines. Our team leaders have been trained in risk management principles and have both on-field and home-office support to ensure a secure experience.

$250 Trip Deposit – A $250 fee is required to reserve your spot, which goes toward the overall cost of the trip.

1/3 of the trip cost is due 3 months before departure
2/3 of the trip cost is due 2 months before departure
Final payment is due 1 month before departure
Our team will provide support and guidance throughout the fundraising and preparation process.
What’s included?
Reaching the unreached often means going where there are no paved roads, hotels, or easy systems. Your trip cost is an all-inclusive investment in the mission. It covers everything from your travel insurance and housing to the project materials (like Bibles, medicine, etc.) and the local experts (translators, doctors, construction foremen, etc.) who make our work possible. We don’t just visit; we show up fully prepared to meet the needs of the community.

Michelle Gash, a seasoned mission leader with extensive experience in guiding teams and discipleship on the field, will work with your group for the duration of your trip. She will accompany your group throughout the trip, facilitating ministry activities, coordinating logistics, and providing spiritual encouragement. She will be available for:
