In the jungle town of Saposoa, Peru, Pastor Juan and Keyla are reaching the next generation through discipleship, youth outreach, and compassionate community care. Join them this summer to serve through youth camps, medical clinics, and women’s ministry as the gospel takes root in the Amazon.

Peru is a country rich in history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes. Home to indigenous communities, vibrant cities, and ancient Incan heritage, it is a nation where tradition meets modernity. Saposoa is a town in northern Peru in the San Martín Region nestled within the Amazon rainforest. The town lies along the Saposoa River, contributing to its lush, tropical environment. While Catholicism is predominant, many Peruvians blend Christian beliefs with indigenous spiritual practices, and across the country, there are still many unreached people groups who have yet to hear the Gospel. Beyond evangelism, there is a critical need for discipleship and church planting in Saposoa. Many communities in the San Martin Region lack strong, Bible-based churches where believers can grow in faith and be equipped to disciple others. Our mission is to partner with local believers to plant and strengthen churches that will serve as Gospel-centered communities for years to come. In addition, poverty, lack of access to education for young people, and isolation create barriers to both physical well-being and spiritual growth. Our mission is to bring hope, encouragement, and the love of Christ to those who have never heard or fully understood the Gospel.

Our ministry partners in Saposoa are Pastor Juan and Keyla whose vision is to reach the generation of youth in Saposoa with engaging church ministry and intentional discipleship. There will be a variety of ministries in which you and your team will be able to participate.
In addition to youth outreach, the vision of Juan and Keyla’s Church (Iglesia IMCP) is to meet both the spiritual and physical needs of their communities. This includes things like setting up medical clinics where those with physical needs can see a nurse or doctor, dispensing reading glasses for those in need, preaching and evangelistic outreach in the evenings, and educating the women through a health conference.
Youth Camps and Youth Outreach: Your team will be instrumental in sharing your faith and practical skills in a two day camp for young people in Sapasoa. This camp will focus on spiritual, emotional, and physical well being and will include seminars, biblical teaching, sports activities, and games.
Missionary Guest House Construction: Their vision also includes the remodeling of a missionary guest house where teams and other Peruvian missionaries can come and stay and minister to the local churches and community. Your team will be involved in helping to take this project a step forward in its development. In addition, there is a project to help build and assemble a fence around the church to better secure the property.
Women’s Ministry Conference: The remoteness of Saposoa and the limited access to health education and services creates challenges for local women and girls. The females on the team will be invited to participate in a women’s health and discipleship conference where holistic teaching on the biblical basis for health and God’s design for women occur.

Our team will stay in hotels throughout our time in Lima and Saposoa. Expect no A/C and cold showers at the hotels in Saposoa - however each room will have a fan!

Participants will fly to Lima, Peru and stay overnight at the Hacienda Lima Norte. The next day, the team will fly approximately 1 hour north to Tarapoto. Upon arrival, the team will get packed up and travel 3 hours in vans to Saposoa.

You will eat like a Peruvian! Meals will be prepared safely by local Peruvian cooks. Peruvian cuisine is known for its unique fusion of indigenous, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, and African influences, resulting in diverse and flavorful dishes. Meals are typically carb-heavy and oftentimes include rice and potatoes. Chicken will be the most common protein at meals but beef and fish will most likely be included at times as well.
Some classic Peruvian dishes you might have while in Peru are lomo saltado (stir-fried beef with soy sauce and spices), pollo a la brasa (Peruvian rotisserie chicken), aji de gallina (creamy chicken with aji amarillo peppers), papas a la huancaina (potatoes in a spicy cheese sauce), and various potato dishes.
In the event of food allergies, please notify the team leader prior to the trip so that arrangements can be made ahead of time. Our staff and partners will do the absolute best to accommodate these food allergies.
Team leaders will ensure that everyone has access to clean drinking water throughout the entirety of the trip - whether through bottled waters or large jugs of filtered water. Remember, NEVER drink the tap water in Peru!

At Go InterNational, participant safety is our top priority. Our internal team and external consultants use a multi-layered risk management approach, including monitoring global reports and collaborating with ministry partners on the ground. We enforce safety protocols, such as requiring students to be with an adult, while our hosts provide location-specific guidelines. Our team leaders have been trained in risk management principles and have both on-field and home-office support to ensure a secure experience.

$250 Trip Deposit – A $250 fee is required to reserve your spot, which goes toward the overall cost of the trip.
Payment Schedule:
1/3 of the trip cost is due 3 months before departure
2/3 of the trip cost is due 2 months before departure
Final payment is due 1 month before departure
Our team will provide support and guidance throughout the fundraising and preparation process.
What’s included?
Reaching the unreached often means going where there are no paved roads, hotels, or easy systems. Your trip cost is an all-inclusive investment in the mission. It covers everything from your travel insurance and housing to the project materials (like Bibles, medicine, etc.) and the local experts (translators, doctors, construction foremen, etc.) who make our work possible. We don’t just visit; we show up fully prepared to meet the needs of the community.

Your team will be led by Larry Montgomery, a seasoned mission leader with extensive experience in guiding teams on the field and passionate about discipleship.
Larry will accompany your group throughout the trip, facilitating ministry activities, coordinating logistics, and providing spiritual encouragement. He will be available for:
