Are You Ready to GO?

We can’t wait until we can get back to leading trips like the one in this video on a regular basis. But one thing we have been saying frequently around GO InterNational in the last year and a half is that the Great Commission is not quarantined. We have continued to pray, train and support our partners via Zoom and through giving to support their ongoing work in the pandemic.

As international travel slowly returns to a new normal after the pandemic, we at GO InterNational are looking at opportunities for the fall of 2021 and into 2022 to take mission teams to serve alongside our international partners. We hope to have some trips ready to announce in the near future. We anticipate that in the near future we will have shorter lead-times as we plan trips and try to respond quickly to opportunities that arise. In the meantime, we need YOU to be ready so you can GO with us! What can you do to prepare?

  1. Get your passport ready! Wait times are MUCH longer than normal so if your passport needs to be renewed, don't delay and send it in today! Remember that many countries require that your passport expiration be at least 6 months from your entry, even if you are planning to leave before it expires. So take this into account when deciding if you need to renew.

  2. Make sure your vaccinations are up to date. Detailed discussion about the COVID vaccines are beyond the scope of this post, but we do anticipate that some countries may require this in the days ahead. Remember that medical care may not be as accessible where you will travel, so take this into account when you decide whether to be vaccinated. And you will need to determine with your personal physician your own risk-benefit analysis regarding the vaccine. Don’t forget your other routine vaccines like hepatitis and tetanus vaccines. You can update those now so you are ready.

  3. Contact your favorite team leader (Larry Montgomery, Larry Frick, Ron, or Michelle) and let them know you're ready to GO! Letting us know of your willingness and interest may help us in our planning an discussions with our partners.

  4. Pray for the ministry, our partners, upcoming trips, and where God is leading YOU to GO next! Although missions is very practical and plays out in the world we see, it is at its core a spiritual activity. We are dependent on the Lord and his Spirit for every aspect of our missions ministry. Nothing of eternal consequence happens apart from prayer. If you want to know God’s heart for the nations and your role in God’s plan, you must spend time in prayer. Let us know if you want to be a part of our private Facebook prayer group.

  5. Be with Jesus. Spend time abiding and seeking Him with your whole heart. That happens through prayer but also through spending time in God’s word. God’s heart is for the nations. If you need a refresher on his heart for the nations, we suggest going through the 2021 Secret Church recordings found at Radical by David Platt. As you contemplate in prayer what God’s word says about his heart for the nations, he will speak to you, equip you, and prepare you as you get ready to GO!

  6. Give. You can give to support the work of our partners which continues even though we haven’t been able to GO recently. This will keep their ministries strong until the time comes when we can join them in the work again in person. Click here to support our partners.
