Taking a leap of faith in Nepal
When God is in the mix, many miracles can happen.
Together, GO InterNational and Babu have brought miracles – and changes – to Nepal. Babu and his wife, Sabitri, moved to Nepal from India more than 20 years ago and began ministering to orphans. Their story could be straight out of Acts, because they have suffered persecution requiring them to move three times, and even landed them in jail.
Yet their strong faith continued and has impacted thousands of people in Nepal. Their orphanage is home to 50-100 children at any given time; and they oversee a Bible school where they train young Nepali Christians to become village pastors. Through their graduates, they have planted a network of 15 churches in their region of Nepal.
Recently, their ministry had the opportunity to purchase land, which will allow them to construct a church to consolidate smaller churches and serve as a base for their network. They will also be able to construct a permanent home for the Bible school and use part of the land to raise crops to feed the people. Land has become very expensive. But the Lord provided them with a good opportunity. However they had only a short time to raise the needed funds. It was a leap of faith for them to commit to this project, not knowing how the Lord would provide. GO InterNational was able to step in and help meet the need, along with other ministry partners. Together with the funds they were able to raise locally, they finalized the land purchase last month and began construction of a fence to protect the land. We are praising the Lord with them for all he has done there and how He continues to move.
We know the needs are still great there for discipleship, ongoing support for the children in the orphanage, and development of the newly acquired land. For information about visiting Nepal on a mission team or for how you can get involved, please contact us.
